Taking off

This will be a brief first entry; I will write a proper “first entry” soon.

The reason for the brevity is that I am on the plane ready to take off for Haiti. So far check in went really smoothly, which I hope is a sign of things to come. I’ll be going to Cange first for a week or so to get oriented, then on to Saint Marc where I’ll be for the majority of the 6 months.

Packing and departing always feels like one of the hardest parts to me, so in a way I’m feeling relieved to just be on the plane and know that at least the preparations are complete. If I don’t have it by now, it’s not coming. (or it is, but not with me.)

So, here we go!
