A few weeks ago I had the privilege of being interviewed by my cousin’s daughter for a school project. She asked some really great questions about life here in Haiti, and I realized during the interview process that people might want to hear about things that I have not thought to write about.

I know when Elise interviewed you, you said that your organization has been in Haiti for many years and that you are part of a well established program. In reading your blog, however, I am often left feeling like you have been dropped at ground zero and that there is not a very coherent plan in place to support you (for example not having a translator with you for several days, not being told about financial resources for patient transport, not having an working warmers when you arrived, etc.). Can you talk a little bit about “the big picture” in terms of what your organization does to provide you with what you need to do your work and what the barriers are to doing so?
